Our story, our successes Founded in 1973, in Sanremo, Italy, by Fernando Amerio, Permare Group started by providing marine services to growing number of customers in the Italian and French Riviera.

Today the Group is a family business with three generations working within the group, the founder, Mr. Fernando Amerio, Barbara and Rodolfo, the children, and a third generation who joined the team.

In the early 90s, the Shipyard Permare, after being also retailer and manufacturer for other Italian shipyard, begins the construction of yachts under its own brand “Amer Yachts”, that over the years will become a synonymous of quality.

Today Permare builds in Viareggio Amer Yachts up to 120 feet and offers in Sanremo and Imperia refit and aftersales services.

Over the past 4 decades, the shipyard has built a craft production considered a niche, over 80 yachts tailored to an Italian and foreign clientele, and in 2023 will party 50 years of activity.

Currently Permare Group is composed by three refitting shipyards, “Sanremoship”, “Cantieri del Mediterraneo”, “Cantieri del Ponente” Shipyard and “Deposito Franco”. The three shipyards cover a territory which goes from Sanremo to Imperia, that can offer to any type of boats services which range from routine maintenance to major refitting interventions.

“Deposito Franco” deals with prestigious real estate transactions and commercial leases in the property on the port of Sanremo.

Permare Group has also its own brokerage department for the purchase of second-hand yachts and a charter department to satisfy all those customers who prefer to charter different yachts, from 20 up to 60 m, for their holidays around the world.

Permare Group annually supports training through collaborations with Universities (Bocconi, Istituto Marangoni, IED – European Institute of Design and IAAD – Italian University of Design) to encourage development and research and promote innovation in Design and above all to raise awareness of future designer towards a union between design and respect for the environment.

Research Center Amer Yachts has important collaborations with Enea, Cetena, Rina, Volvo Penta, GS4C and other strategic partners.

Amer Yachts is working on a experimentation presented during the past Boat Show in Genova and Cannes. It concerns Filava, a composite fiber for nautical applications with the aim of gradually dismantling the use of fiberglass replacing it with recyclable materials. All tests are underway by RINA institute, the Italian classification society.
